MIDLAND LEAGUE OVER 60'S WIN

The Over 60s completed a hard-fought win over Coleshill 2-0 in Round 4 of the Midland League with a brace of goals, one in each half from John McG both truly struck giving the keeper no chance.

The pattern of play was disrupted by injuries with Martin E and Roy W both having to leave the action early and the benefit of having subs available was a boon to the team. Paul Feeney came on to mark his return to competitive action and looked like he had never been away. Brendan and Dave W shared the forward duties and worked hard against a resolute Coleshill defence. Keith L also returned to the team with a solid performance going close with a couple of shots.

Coleshill created several chances but were thwarted by Man of the Match Les D in goal who pulled off some stunning saves. The team played better football as the game wore on are starting to get used to each other’s style of play and should really have taken more chances as game went on.

The team after 4 games are now top of the league as Hartshill lost to an ever-improving Bedworth. Next up top of the table clash with Hartshill.
