BWFC sent two sides to the Rotherham United Walking Football Tournament on Wednesday 27th September 2017.

Both sides put in some good displays with BWFC “A”  finishing 3rd and BWFC “B” coming home in 4th place overall.

It was a 5 a side competition, each match being 20 mins duration straight through, and was played off the side and back boards with no head height restriction!!  This led to some fast and furious play and the use of substitutes was essential to alleviate the tiredness factor.

Our two teams were drawn apart in the two group stages, and both sides reached the semi final stage of the completion, avoiding playing each other by finishing 2nd in their respective groups.

BWFC A  ( Over 65’s team ) were unbeaten in the group stage, winning 1 match and drawing 2,  drawing again in the semi final  2 – 2 before going out of the competition on penalty kicks !!

BWFC B  ( Over 60’s team ) containing a number of players making their competitive debuts for the club,  Won 2 and lost 1 match in the group stage but unfortunately losing heavily in the semi final to the eventual winners Rotherham A.
Some very creditable performances for a side playing together in a competition for the first time.
